In the video of Jay Leno reviewing/driving the Z/28... one of the things he pointed out was the stupid seat motors, and the lack thereof in the Z/28.

Honestly... in any car, except the most luxurious, there is no reason for a motor to move your seat. It's extra weight, it's extra expense, it's something else to break.

I wish car companies would buck the trend of... "they're doing it, so we have to". The Z/28 is right on the mark, but it's high end. I want something that is bare-bones but on the low end.

Nice wheels! I have some on order. They look heavy, but I believe they are actually lighter than stock.

I also have a 2SS with the sunroof and all the other stuff. I did the exact same thing as you and weighed mine on a CAT scale last year. Came in at 3880 lbs, too (without me in the car) and about 1/4 tank of gas.

This is why these cars aren't that impressive with a V6. Not bashing—the V6 is a great engine, but the car is just a tank. It's even a lot of weight for the V8 to push around. GM needs to lighten the car, and put a better gear ratio in.

I have since put matching 18's up front, I know I lost 22 lbs there. I have a 15 lb battery to install, that would be another 25 lbs. Also cut off the rollerskates. Maybe 3700 w/o me is possible.
His journal is what inspired my journey into automotive weight loss! I would love to get below 3800 lbs. I'm held back with the sunroof and auto so not much I can do about that.

I agree! Electronic seat adjustment is stupid, you never use it. I hope that the manual seat rack is available for purchase. I will jump on that on a heartbeat.

These cars were made for modifying- similar to Harleys. Good luck on the diet!

My Camaro will not be going on a diet. She's beautiful as she is.

V6 Curb weight is lighter by 120 lbs. That's why it handles a bit better than the V8.

Not really. The SS has a better suspension.
