You keep saying high rpm when I still got 1700 rpm to go before I even hit the red line. I've had v8's since 2001 tired of premium gas is all. It's not like I do that driving all the time. BUT!!!! I should be able to shift when I want to

Extra $5-$10 every tank for better performance is worth it in my opinion. If had plenty of v8 camaro's, 1 v6 camaro and for now a 4 cylinder Integra so I know the whole gas thing as far as difference between price between premium and 87. I'd rather have the car that takes 91 and canget up to speed without having to redline but thats just me. I also got better mileage per tank out of my v8 than I did my v6 because the power to weight ratio was in favor of the v8. Just my personal experience

I have the same issue, but it rears its ugly face in third gear also. It was really scary merging onto traffic, and had to accelerate hard, and quick shift into second. It just binds, and it does it a lot too.

I've never had the issue that the OP mentioned. Shifting from 2nd to 3rd however....

I grind all the time at high rpm shifting from first to second, granted a short throw shifter doesn't help the problem OP, at least for me to stop the grinding, pause in neutral for a second before slamming it into 2nd, it helps, but when drag racing it hurts the times! On the issue of being completely locked out, that seems like a bigger problem I haven't experienced yet. Good luck brother!

Customer care responded to me and they forwarded the problem to some district office that has a tight relationship with berger so I should be getting a phone call within the next 48 hours. Just curious as to what you guys would do IF I get the same response berger gave me and that was nothing we can do sorry. Btw this car only has 26k miles on it.
As to the guy that keeps bringing up why not get a v8 at this point in my life I can't justify paying another 8 to 10 more grand just to minus 1.6 second off 0-60. 312hp is fine, and these cars are fine to drive hard now and then.Hell this has more hp stock then 2 of my previous v8's.

They couldn't have been LS1's because that statement would be the other way around. Regardless hopefully they do fix it, if not you can always look into a built trans. It does suck when a car is acting up, especially if it's your dd . . . I know how that is :(

As a GM employee, that link makes me disgusted. Further, considering that I had stated numerous times in this post that I have not had this problem myself, I don't appreciate your PM spam with a link to the lawsuit when you already have it posted here. How many other people did you spam with the link?

FWIW - I went up to red line this morning before shifting into 2nd gear and had absolutely no problems. It's not EVERY transmission that this happens on. As I stated before, I changed my fluid to synthetic trans fluid (Royal Purple) - maybe that's what needs to be done. I've never been one to do a fast shift from 1st to 2nd though - I don't take forever, but it usually takes me a few milliseconds longer to get from 1st to 2nd than it does 2nd to 3rd..... love the 2-3 shift.

I went through this process. I had false hope of something being done about my issues. To this day I have no resolution and everyone I spoke to at every level had a variation of the following three stories:

1) We have no record of any problems with manual transmissions.
2) This is how it's designed to work. (my personal favorite, btw)
3) We are aware of the issue but our engineers do not have a fix at this time.

I hope you have better luck than I had.
