Last Chevy for me

So for some reason an it's known for 2011 v6 camaros you can't shift into second when your around or above 5400rpms. Two weeks ago I bring it into Berger both people that drove it couldn't shift it. So they tell me they'll fix it. Haven't heard from them call them today. Well the gm rep said its a known problem but as of now there's no fixes. Wtf!? I didn't drop 30g on a car that won't shift below redline!

So you want to down shift from 3rd into second so you can red line the engine?

I believe the OP means that he couldn't shift from 1st to 2nd when under redline. If it's the reverse then yeah... wow....

I would suggest asking for a loaner while they figure it out. I do not believe that if it is a known problem as you have described that in 2 years they have not come up with a solution. Stay calm and I am sure everything will work out in short order, and a loaner car will take the pressure off your transportation needs.

Lmao of course it's from 1st to 2nd gear I don't feel like blowing my engine. I'll g private message you after work so I can get my vin. And for the others it's been mentioned in the problem section or just google 2011 v6 Camaro second gear problems, basically it comes down to the 1st and 2nd gear synchronizers buuuuut people have also reported that didn't fix the problem. Oh and this is only for the manuals

It's been around since the existence of the 5th gens. At high rpm the transmissions have trouble shifting. There are numerous proposed fixes including to separate the clutch reservoir.

I agree though. This is my last GM car for awhile if not for good for other reasons.

Granted I'm not usually shifting from 1st to 2nd close to red line, but I haven't had any issues shifting with my 2012 1LS v6.

Did you change the trans fluid out to synthetic?

Surprised you're having issues with Berger - they were a sponsor on my site for awhile and also sponsor the Western Michigan Camaro Club, they're very well regarded for service and customer satisfaction.
