Chevy SS
I have a question and I figured if anyone could help, y'all could.
I have a 2015 Camaro SS with Vararam VR-DRX intake, longtubes, catless midpipes, and mail order tune. My dad has a 2015 Chevy SS with a rotofab intake. Both cars are auto. I know stock for stock he has me by 15 horses but at this point, I should have the power and weight advantage. Nevertheless, I can't hang with him. Whether it's from 0 or from a roll he can consistently pull ahead. Driver skill really isn't a factor here because we can swap cars and the results don't change. I've been told that I need to have my car retuned because with those mods I should be able to pull ahead easily. Please Advise because I am at a loss. |

Apparently not only old dudes rule but so do their cars! Is his car tuned? Maybe he has a “factory freak?”

Tell him to load the trunk with groceries, like what it was designed for, then try it again.

Was your mail order tune for the long tubes? Maybe get a custom tune?

Did you run him stock to stock? Same result?

Sorry I wasn't clear about the tune. It was custom tuned for the intake and headers. Dyno Steve did the original tune. And we never had a stock to stock run because mine was modded when he bought his.

All I can say is don't under estimate those Chevy SS, that LS3 runs really good. My 14 has intake, exhaust and LMS tune and runs really, really good. Also the handling is above par compared to the Camaro.

You have your seat set all the way back and you can't hit the throttle to the floor whiles wearing your goofy glasses and reclined seat and a baseball cap on backwards.

Both stock gearing. And to my knowledge, the Chevy SS only comes with the LS3.
And Fred you forget the potential issue caused by the booming of my stereo system. |

Gearing is the same with the A6, the M6 has the 3:73.
All Chevy SS come with the LS3.

LS3 vs L99. It makes a difference. More cam and more compression.
