pinstripe lines in paint.

i recently removed the stripes on the rear spoiler of my camaro.no ghosting, but at certain angles you can see lines where the stripes used to be,almost like the paint is thicker or thinner in that area.can anything be done with this,or will it eventually take care of itself?

Always try gentlest method first such as a light buffing compound.
If you really can see a height difference in paint, then I might start with 1000 grit wet or dry sandpaper on a block working up to finer grits, which will then need 2 or 3 stages of buffing to bring back clarity.

I can see the same on my 5th gen Ashen Grey Metallic where I removed the skunk stripes. I too have been told how thin the paint is on these cars. Since the marks can only be seen in certain angles, in certain light, I've left them alone. I do have experience wet sanding, but don't feel it's worth the risk. Polishing won't remove the marks but does help bring the appearance of the paint the same where the stripe was to the rest of the panel.

I would try using a polishing compound since it is less abrasive than rubbing compound.
