It's required. If any doubt, ask them what the TFF credit is on their open account for every VIN number they are invoiced. It's the Tank Full of Fuel credit, where GM pays them to completely fill every vehicle with fuel.

I want to clarify that I bought used. I still think I should have gotten a full tank, but the dealer didn't get away with selling a new car to me without a full tank.

Well i guess it's pretty much clear by everyone's answer. A full tank is what we're supposed to get! Aside that, the CAR IS HERE!!! They are putting my winter rims+tires on! Cant pick it up till tomorrow as it isnt ready just yet! I work anyway.... happy dance!

I'm guessing it's either a safety issue when shipping the vehicles or an efficiency matter. Why ship all that fuel which could possibly run about 100 pounds extra per vehicle?

Every vehicle I have purchased included a free full tank of gas!

In fact, I bought the wife a new '11 Equinox last week and it also came with a free tank. Plus when we get the survey, they encourage us to bring it to the dealership for another free tank. It's very important to them to get perfect 10 scores! Also, free first oil change!

Chevy dealer South Anchorage didn't fill tank, almost didn't have enough gas to get to a station I knew had 93 octane (about 5 miles)

I didn't think it was right but he did cut me one heck of a deal on the car.

All my cars/trucks came with full tanks over the years (assuming I bought them from a dealer) whether new or used.

Randy @ Rodger's Chevrolet took care of the last few Camaros for me.

does the window sticker say "you get free gas"? It is an option.

Exactly right, GM includes this in part of the cost of the car.
The dealer pays the invoice Minus a certain prep allowance which is to reimburse the dealer for preparing the car. Part of this is meant to include the cost of a tank of gas
