Dyno'ed 87 vs. 93 v6
I know in a v6, 93 octane reduces knock retard.
But how much hp/tq are we talking? Has anyone dyno a v6 on 93 and 87? What gains were seen? I understand the computer may need to relearn. |

Don't know if anyone dyno'ed a V6 87 vs 93.
All we do know is it pulls more timing on 87 but was designed for this.

Something similar has been done....just have no clue where to find the graph. Also, it may have been 91 octane instead of 93
In the end the premium run has slightly better numbers and a seemingly smoother graph across most of the rpm range than the regular grade fuel, but it wasn't a huge increase either. Also, it has been proven that 87 grade causes the knock sensors to be more active than premium grade.
