Materials and components can vary quite a bit between prototype and production cars.
Yeah I have been reading up on it a little and so far it seems like it is gonna be on heck of a car. If it is anywhere near the performer that some of the rumors are saying it is/will be ...at the price rumored..58k?..It will be one hell of a bargain.

Barret Jackson Pics

Thought i'd throw out some of the pics from the Barret Jackson Auction. I think these pictures give the best up to date look on what to expect from the 2015 Mustang.

I like the front and sides but that rear end is absolutely hideous.

The Camaro needs a blue like that, maybe slightly darker. BRM is too dark in my opinion.

So, the 1st Gen-6 Mustang GT, the "BOSS-beater" (and, by implication, Z/28 challenger [no pun]), sells for $300,000. Ron Pratte, the buyer of all significant performance #1 Mustangs, is absent from bidding, although he was seen sitting @ Rick Hendrick's left hand.

Then, that "total fail" of a "phat azz" **Z/28 arrives, the 1st one its kind of the "old-Gen" Camaros to see the light of day, and it sells for $650,000.

BOTH charity cars, with great tax implications, and BOTH rabidly sought by their respective faithful.

I guess the free market has spoken.

I can't even pretend to understand how people who live at that financial level think . . . no matter which car(s) they throw more money at.

Norm
Why bother thinking...they have money.

Just noticed something, the profile of the tire sidewall height is just about the same height as the lip on the wheel wells. I don't like that look. The lip needs to be narrower to me.

If youre looking for an argument stating the z28 is probably worth twice what a GT is, youre probably not going to find it.

I dont believe anyone has every mentioned the standard Mustang GT beating the Z/28 on the track. If someone had actually stated that... anyone with common sense would know how ignorant that person is. I think the prices reflect the cars equally. A premium mustang gt running around 35k and then a z/28 running around 75k. 300k to 650k makes sense. Not to mention the z/28 is a collectors car produced in a limited quantity while the GT will be mass produced.

These purchases say nothing in regards to what the masses are thinking.

Affirmative. I really like that blue. I wonder about those brakes. Is that 6 piston calipers in front and 2 in back?

I agree but it would have been embarrassing for Chevrolet if a $35K Mustang GT had sold for more than a $75K Z/28...

Man i still just absolutely hate the rear on that mustang. Looks like they took a decent looking car and said, "we need to make this a mustang guys." Then someone went into photoshop, cut out the rear of an old fastback and put it on here without making it flow with the rest of the car or anything... Then they all said, "that'll do."
