Fuel and FI

What horsepower level will the stock injectors and pump reliably support?

If staying all motor it would take a bit. Forced induction and e85 take alot of fuel. Lots of variable here

I am limited to 90 octane pump gas (but I guess I could do octane boosters but not sure I want to mess with that everytime I fill up). I will either get a PD blower or centri blower.

Methanol is a good option.

My ZL1 pump topped out around 580hp. With the BAP, it hit 712 with room to spare. I would not try FI on a stock SS fuel pump.

The Whipple kit I bought came with a BAP for the stock SS pump, and I ran that for 2 years with no issues. I'm assuming Whipple did enough testing to ensure the stock SS pump and BAP will handle a Whipple with the 4" pulley. It was a conservative tune though.

If you start dropping pulley sizes, adding a cam, 3" exhaust, tuning, etc etc you will need a bigger fuel system. If you are just doing an FI kit, you can get away with an SS pump and a BAP.

If NA the engine is sucking on those injectors, which will make them work upto somewhere around 580-600, but they will be beyond 80% DC.

If you're running boost, the engine will be blowing against the injectors, and the pump will struggle to keep up fuel pressure. I personally would not even try using a stock fuel pump or stock injectors with Forced Induction. You would see them max out sooner than NA.

FI aint cheap. You need at least a ZL1 pump (and fpcm tune) and some injectors.

Anywhere from 550-580 depending on the car and the ability of the tuner. I ran just under 600 for years on a bone stock fuel pump without a problem.
That is cutting it very close but it worked.

Thanks for the info. I have no plans (nor foresee any) to go beyond ~600-650 RWHP. That will be about all I think I can (or should) handle...
I think I'd be quite happy at "only" 575 hp.

For the record, I upgraded to a ZL1 pump in order to hit the 600rwhp I'm at now. When I went from stock to the Whipple kit, it was fine on the SS pump and BAP, which is what Whipple recommended.
