Sweet. I'd be interested in seeing more pictures of the roll cage, it looks real clean.

It seems like you would have lost more weight than that? How much did that cage cost you in weight? You'll need to shave a bunch more off to get that thing up into the high 200's I'm thinking.
But WOW! Not many Z/28's set up for the high speed runs. This should be very interesting! Go Z/28's!!!!!!!!!!!

You know I love this car, and the cage is a work of art. But if you're really gonna try and go that fast I would swap the seats out for some FIA approved race seats, (which will also save a lot of weight). Just my 2c.
Can't wait to see the engine come together! All the best. Pat |

That... wow. Seeing that cage as anything BUT a work of art is a crime unto itself. Well effing done, sir!
Out of curiosity, for future reference, could you PM me what you estimate it would cost to do that to mine? hahah Need concrete numbers to show the wife whenever I want to do something to the car. lol Last edited by MrRaZ28; 03-12-2019 at 12:49 PM. |

If the rear seats are unusable from the cage, why even modify/have them in there? That nearly 60 lbs of extra weight not needed

The rear seat in the Z28 is only styrofoam with the cover and weighs about 10lbs. The car was too loud with the seat out and no sound deadening.

It's amazing just how well it lowers the noise when it weighs almost nothing and isn't THAT thick lol. I had it out for a day while I was working on something and had to take it to work before putting it back.. Man, that was awful. It's one thing if it's engine noise.. but the road noise... no thanks.
