As Marine said, one is not required.

Not necessarily. The problem will be with high flow cats or no cats at all. However, a tune with just headers will be beneficial.

You'll get the most out of the headers with a tune, and they can fix the CEL.

Any Camaro, even stock, would benefit from a custom tune. A. can you afford it and B. are you worried about warranty? Then don't...peace out...

With basically a stock car you may get 5-10 hp from a tune. Is it worth the cost and warranty? I did hiflow cars, shortys,a tune got 12 more hp, but I did it as my Halltech Cai combined with the others got my a/f out of whack

As the others have stated the simple answer to that is no.
A more in depth answer would be a tune can benefit just about any mod, even a stock car has room to grow with a tune. The reason most people wait until they get headers to get a tune is because that's when most set-up's start to break out of that little HP gain they are in without headers, or when their warranty is up/they decide to ditch it because longtubes or a tune will void the factory warranty. For example a catback/axleback won't net you hardly any gains, so most don't see it being tune worthy. When you add an intake, depending on the brand, you're adding a potential 8-15HP into the mix along with what the car would gain from a tune over stock. So a stock untuned car with a good intake and a good tune can stand to gain ~25HP. That is good enough to tune for some, others not so much considering the price of the tuner. Throwing headers into the mix is when you see significant gains over stock. Not to mention the o2 sensors will almost always throw a code so a tune will not only get you the most out of your mods thus far but also make sure there is no CEL. For most, that is beyond good enough to want the tune. Maximize HP, tune out o2 sensors and AFM (if you're an L99) and correct A/F ratios so the car isn't running lean. Long story short; a custom tune is beneficial in any case. It's up to you to decide when you cross the desired threshold to start maximizing the most out of the car and when you can afford to do so. Hope this answer's some of your questions!

No problem buddy I try to go in depth so others can understand why they received the answer they got. Knowledge is power! Let us know if you come across anything else you might be wondering about! Have fun and happy modding!

So installing a catback exhaust and keeping the stock manifolds and stock catalytic converters with no tune will not void your factory warranty?

Rule of thumb is they have to be able to prove your modification caused whatever part of your car being serviced under warranty is to fail. If they want to try and link the failure of your transmission due to you installing a catback, good luck to them
