Arrow What are the best bolt on's to do with factory warranty?

What are the best bolt on's or modifications you can do without voiding the factory warranty? What modification are worth doing? What gains may you see? I am asking because I don't want to void my factory warranty. Opinions?

Ultimately you have little to no options when it comes to power add-on's that wont void the warranty. Intake, catback, maybe a ported throttle body (not a power adder but will help throttle response.) And even then, the gains will be minimal without the proper tune to maximize the most out of each mod.

Your best bet would be to get an exhaust you like and then stick to cosmetic modifications and worry about the bolt-on's after your warranty is up. That way you have a nice looking car that has a sound to match.

That is a good idea thank you for your knowledge I appreciate it. Does a Powerbond 25% under drive crank pulley void your engine warranty? It is actually a good mod for your engine. Will a CAI and a Catback exhaust require a tune to make your car run correctly? Or can you get away with not doing a tune?

I'm actually not sure if the UDP will void a warranty, perhaps someone else could chime in with that one. I could see why it would as it's turning 25% slower so it can have some unwanted side effects if manufactured poorly. This can lead to low alternator voltage, weak/no power steering assist, and weak/no air conditioning effectiveness, especially at idle/low RPM. The most commonly seen side effect is lighting may dim, or the stereo may cut out. I'm going to be running the Powerbond 25% UDP (car is currently in the shop for a cam upgrade along with other upgrades, UDP being one) but since the idle has to be raised for my cam it offsets the negative effects that can be acquainted with UDP's.

As for the intake/catback question, the answer is no, you do not need a tune for them to work properly. Will a tune help? Of course! But those are within the limits of what the car can reasonably self learn and will adapt to. However, when choosing an aftermarket intake it is important to check and see if you have a strong MAF sensor, as the increased air flow makes you susceptible to a CEL if you do not. More on that here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=291436

None.
I'll say it again....any modification can potentually void a warranty. That doesnt mean a competent dealer will try to warranty an issue proven not caused by your modification.
When in doubt, wait it out.

Fuzzy Dice are a very safe mod though you will likely need to find a Fuzzy Dice friendly dealer just to be safe!

Get new valve stem tips and call it a day....seriously..anybody who SERIOUSLY wants to mod these cars should FIRST develop a relationship with a tuner OR learn to tune themselves. These cars are ALL computer...period. Even a BRAND NEW camaro off the show room floor would run better tuned with ZERO mods..

Not slammin you per se...just see these Q's and want to set the expectation level...sure go ahead and bolt on what ever with no tune....and I will take the same car, have it tuned and it WILL blow the un-tuned car away...performance, drivability, gas mileage, etc...

Now, you can get a better air filter for the stock(K&N) and I would also check the MAF and make sure it's the strong ver(look it up). Get the trans and rear diff fluids changed. These will not void any warranty, you will learn about your car and get a small performance and mileage increase.

My goal was/is when modding first, reliability, second is efficiency and third performance...when you do the first 2 properly the 3rd follows naturally...when you push performance over the first 2, you get broken parts, pissed and disillusioned, get to sit on yer ass all summer waiting to fix the broken stuff and last an empty wallet...

My car is a daily driver...I can't afford to live on the edge and since I have had the car approx 13mo now, my mods per my sig have worked out pretty good. Not been back to the track since the latest upgrades so my Q will go down...good luck!

Seriously ; a better shifter if a manual as in short throw MGW, if dual mode a Forza controller, and a catch can you have set up to be able to remove easily and return to stock if you ever have to get warranty work.....dealers are like a huge ugly pimp, Ho comes back with her make up smeared and your payin extra......

Some guys know their dealer and they may be OK with Headers and high flows and a CAI and tune if they do it, unfortunately that's not us.......... and talking Magnuson moss act will get you escorted off the property...LOL

Visit your dealer. Have a discussion with the service director. Find out what they view as acceptable modifications that will not void your warranty. Work with them and hopefully they work with you.

Assuming you are talking about the 2012 in your info, I doubt you have much longer to wait until you're out of warranty anyway. PM your vin and I can tell you exactly when your warranty is up.
