Undercarriage of camaro
I’m not sure what it’s called but the black strip that
Runs along the bottom of my Chevy camaro is coming off. It was already slightly loose but I had to have my car towed Recently and it’s hanging off now due to them hooking it up To their truck. Do I need this part or should I take it off? And if I leave it on, what would be the best most economical way to re attach it. It seems like it’s missing several of the little bolts that go along there to Connect the black piece. Anyone know where I could find the bolts and the part number? Is this something I can do myself? Mine got partially ripped off when I hit some road debris on I-4 (****ing disaster zone of a road lately that I try to avoid). Dealer replaced it for about 30 bucks I think - I can look for the receipt if you'd like.

It deflects air...for a purpose. It's cheap to repair or replace. Your car will likely run hot at some point without it.

I took mine off and threw it away....
It is designed to deflect a bit of air to reduce the amount of front end lift..... It also has a slight effect of removing under hood hot air. This is done by creating a bit of low pressure under the car.... I've driven 200 plus mph without it.... No issues....

Replace it. Even if it doesn't run hotter without it, it looks like the front end is missing something without it. If it wasn't supposed to be there you can guarantee GM wouldn't have put it there.

Replace it. It also deflects dirt and debris down and away from your engine compartment.

If the tow company damaged it, have them replace it.
