And as was stated in the other thread, you don't set your shift light at redline, you set it way ahead of redline so your reaction time at the end of 1st and 2nd gear is enough that you get to the next gear without putting your engine at redline. And it seems as though in this particular dyno test they were pulling in third gear, which is usually a longer gear than first or second, so they would probably be hitting the shift light a decent amount of time before they ever hit redline.
