Did this when I bought my car a year ago, cant hurt.

And its not a myth, at least some years and models' ECM's were incapable of going back to the high octane tables after low octane fuel was used.

Fuse pull

Service manager at Chevy says the fuse pull trick wont make any difference. The computer compensates and does remember. I tend to believe him.

When I picked up my 13 SS a month ago the first thing that I noticed was the car was cranking slow similar to a low battery. With this being my 3rd 5th gen I knew what the problem was,the car had been ran with low octane fuel and was pulling the timing to compensate.

The car only had an 1/8 of a tank of fuel so on the way home I filled it up with 93 octane.Got home and pulled the fuses and let it sit overnight. The next morning I went to the garage and reinstalled the fuses and started it up.Car cranked at a normal speed and the lost power was restored.Trust me the fuse pull is worth it and especially if you are just taking delivery because those rat bastards at the dealership are trying to save a buck and will fill your car with low octane fuel.

The reason you have to wait overnight is to let the caps drain....no need to wait, touching the disconnected batt cables together for 5 secs does the same thing. Ask a tech.....it's why a lot if them have a wire with alligator clips on both ends, all modern cars reset this way.

Does this apply to the 2013 V-6 as well?

When I store my SS for a few weeks at a time or more I always disconnect my neg battery cable. Does this reset it or do I still need to pull the fuses?

Thanks
