The light controls are absolute garbage. That's the one thing that I just don't get about these trucks.

I'm real curious to see how the MPG turns out on these vehicles when they drop the 2.7 in there. Maybe they will put a "de-tuned" 2.7 with 300hp and 350tq or something like that that is able to eek out another mpg or two compared to say the "plus" tuned version that has 310hp and 390tq.

Here's my thoughts (not that anyone cares lol) but in real world driving, I honestly do think that many people can and do beat EPA estimates for the 2.7. In the testing I've seen for the new GM mid-size trucks, some people are reporting they are getting what the EPA says and some are saying they are getting better. It's still too early to know how it will turn out though.

That said, the EPA numbers for the 2.7 are not good. In the FS trucks...the EPA ratings for the 2.7 are virtually the same as the 5.3. In the mid-size trucks the ratings are lower than the last gen V6. Now, in the Chevy Traverse and the GMC Acadia (both using that same V6) I'm inclined to think the 2.7 won't do any better there either. The SUV space is a segment where gm can't afford to offer new vehicles with even worse EPA ratings than their predecessors.

It's strange honestly. The typical mission for these smaller boosted motors is to perform well on the EPA tests. Then later of course we find out real world numbers are poor compared to those tests (EcoBoast).

It is funny, but I'd argue the real world numbers for this 2.7 are opposite of Ecoboast and that they are equal or slightly better than EPA ratings. The results found on fuelly.com seem to back that up.

One guy who has a Canyon AT4 recently filmed a video where he went 50-55 MPH for a decent stretch and got like 28 MPG.

EPA is part of it. Then main reason as for emissions. The 2.7 is much more emissions friendly than the V6 it is largely replacing while remaining (mostly) the same in EPA numbers.

The same is true for twin turbo V6s vs. N/A V8s.

Well, there were admonitions that passwords, credit card info, were all at risk or whatever. It did give me an option to proceed anyway, so no, not worth it with those risk warnings....Just sayin'.

Beats me. I took it to mean that going to Camaro6 by just proceeding would open up the rest of the computer to hacks or whatever. It could have been just a generic warning.

Yeah, it's a warning mainly for sites that sell something where you have to enter sensitive information to make a purchase.
