Now you are scaring me. Will I need to add a 200 shot of N2O? His tuner is still working feverishly on his car.

He ran the times you are running now with a simple intake/xpipe/tune. Once he gets that car tuned it will be game over. If he decides to stall it, you might as well not even try cause he will have a low 10 second car if done right. You should stop worrying about beating your buddy imo, it will lead to a broken car and a wallet on your end

the 5th gen coyote mustang is a beast and best left alone if you dont drop more $$$$ than your buddy. My friend's 2013 auto dropped into the low 11's with full boltons. and into the 10's with just a 75 shot in hot muggy air

My car was back at RPM for some rework so I had them put in the 6 lb springs in the wastegates. Still with a conservative tune my 1LE picked up about 30 RWHP.
And then I went back to Atco to find Pat and his SC 5.0. This upgrade made a nice difference and I started running 120-122 mph. My times were still hovering around 12.0 as I was have trouble launching. But the HP is there. Pat was also having traction problems so it was the perfect night for a rematch. But a track oil dump shortened the night so I only got to run Pat once. Unfortunately he beat my light again and ran a little faster. But it was a close race. But you can see he is still pulling me a little all the way down the track. Now with 90 more RWHP than Pat I think we are close enough so that if I can get consistent better 60s it can be a drivers race. Pat did hook on one run and went 11.4. Hopefully I can beat Pat before he gets his 15 inch DRs. I am #212.

Awesome thread! Good luck in beating him. Sounds like he is a very good driver.

This thread reminds me of "Moby Dick" for some reason...

How's the car running? I'm hoping to get down to Atco soon. Next Tuesday or Friday hopefully.

You gotta keep in mind that a 5.0 is about 400 lbs lighter than a camaro. Plus what kind of tires are you running, and have you touched your suspension? Youd be surprised how big a difference a linear spring rate is vs a progressive spring.

20" NT555Rs (bolt ons) got me 1.74 sec 60' You get that 60' time down where it should be (1.5 - 1.6 with you HP level and converter) and you'll shave a ton of time off |

[QUOTE=SGOS252382;7738168]I was about to say, I ran faster 60' times when my L99 only had an intake for mods.

Gunpowder is your key to victory. Two or three rounds through his block should guarantee a win. Honestly, you can get there, it all depends on who can ignore the wife longer when spending on the car. Seriously, keep increasing boost as far as you can, and work on your launch.

I love my 5.0. Ran 12.2 with used $100 xpipe CAI and mail order tune. Now with a converter it should be a solid 11.5-11.6 car.
490rwhp is really low end. He can easily see 600-650rwhp with the Paxton. Turn up the turbos to ~650-700rwhp and get some good tires.

If I can get my launch down to the 1.7 range (admittedly hard with the NT555Rs and a stick) I can run 11.4-6 and be right there with him. But I am chasing windmills with my 200+ pound heavier IRS car. But he is thinking of buying a 2015 GT once they come out. Then we may be more even.
