They think so....Dealer called Friday and said they're replacing the steering gear and something else. Once I get the car back this week I'll update the thread with everything they replace.

Got the car back yesterday! They replaced the internal torque sensor & steering gear.

At the Corvette Stingray's forum you would see that this is more common on some '17 models that were manufactured with a steering part replacement which was causing the failure, another reason was the installation of catch can by owner which caused a short of energy toward the steering wheel.

Happened again. 3rd warm up lap at AMP. Lost power steering in T5 and the gauge cluster reset twice....now believe it's loosing electrical power somewhere and the steering is just a result of that.

Bummer! Have they checked for a possible harness rub against ac belt per the pic i had attached before?

I checked that myself and doesn't appear to be any rubbing. Anxious to see what GM does. Not a fan of being a test dummy
