1st Camaro 2nd Childhood
Started this adventure looking to replace an 09 Vibe. Went from a bicycle hauler to something to drive to the big city and do road trips. That led to Buick Regals then somehow morphed into a Camaro. The test drive sealed the deal, although getting in, there was that micro second where I had to let go and hope my ass was lined up with the seat. But once inside it was like driving the batmobile...acceleration, sound, tight firm and hot!! No granpa sedan for me. Makes me feel like a shark on the interstate and when I get passed it's only because I let them.
What brought me here were two questions: 1. Is there any real reason for the plastic covers on the control arms in the rear? 2. My Camaro was a used Enterprise rental and all the stuff (except the air pump and sealant) is missing. Looking forward to picking brains since I'm old school....very old school! |

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Welcome. Test drove a second one, and that was it. Similar scenario - 1st Camaro, reliving parts of my childhood.

Found 2 plastic covers in my trunk. Was able to find they were covers for rear lower control arms. Have never seen controls arms covered, can usually use the arms as a place to jack up a car. My guess is the arms are covered to prevent putting a jack there as damage will likely occur if the car is lifted from that point.
