73camaroLT's 2002 SS Build Thread
So i have decided it is time to tell the story of my car. Got lucky in being able to find and buy the car from the dealership so here goes nothing:
As i am searching online at my local dealer, i come accross a used 1999 Pewter SS. I went down to the dealer to find the car to be modded up and not what i wanted but was still interested. Next day i get a call from the salesmen telling me someone out of state bought the car without his consent. So i took a few steps back. A few days later, i get a call from him again, he tells me someone is planning on trading in a Black Camaro SLP Hurst? I wasnt to sure but was willing to take a look. When i first saw the car it was beautiful. It is all stock and very clean. Only 46k miles. So i talk about the car and when it passes inspection i plan to go take it for a test drive. The next day i find out my dad leaves for Michigan and we will not be able to drive the car for 2 weeks. The dealer was nice about it and kind of hid the car in the internet. Didnt advistise to much and kept it on the down low. My dad returns and we take the car for a drive. He loved it and we started talking numbers. They were stuck on 15,500 but that was a little more than i wanted to pay for we walked. 4 days later we go back and try to work the deal. They only came down to about 15,200 but i decided i would rather spend a few extra $ for the car i really want. So we pulled the trigger and brought it home. I love this car. It is a blast to drive and cant wait for warmer weather to the t-tops off and cruise some more. What're your SLP options on this baby? (the ones listed on the door sticker)

I'd tint it before the super gets here. I got two payers of 20% on the sides and 5% on the back. Best investment yet. Especially in the summer, you don't want a cracked dash board.

Then that's probably what I'll do but I'm not sure what percent I want to do. 35% is legal but I want to do 20% but don't want to worry about the cops.

I'm not to sure about the cops where your at, in Dallas the legal % is 35 but my buddies nor have I ever been in any trouble with the cops regarding my window tint. Blacked out windows on a black Camaro would look nice tho!

Cops are usually really strict on the imports. My brother has a modded RSX and he has 20% and 35% on the windshield. I think I may test it and go for 20%. 35% wouldn't be to bad but 20 looks better.
