Vinyl Hood Wrap
What's up fellas? I'm on the fence with the hood wrap. I am waiting on my 1LE, and while taking a "mini" vacation this weekend, I saw my first 1LE. Not really into the hood wrap. The car was black, and very dirty. Didn't look good to me. I'm thinking o pulling it off, and just covering the top of the hood scoop with a black stripe. It will look like the ZL1 less the carbon fiber. BTW, my car will be SIM. What do y'all think?

I like the wrap but I am starting to like the looks of the car without it also. One thing about the vinyl is it is gonna be hard to keep it looking great ie ( fingerprints , water marks and so on) I am keeping mine for now but I did touch it by accident with one of my cloth's I used to wax it with right after I bought it and that spot is still on it.
I have an idea of what I wanna do to the car if I pull it off. So if I decide to go that route then the vinyl has to go.

On the black or blue cars, I'm also not so sure. All the other colors look good
with the wrap IMO. Really liking the AGM with the wrap. |

That is the problem I've heard with these hood wraps, they show everything, scratches, stains, ect. Has anyone applied something like Lucas Oil Quick Wax, or Meguiars Quick Detailer and had any success with it?

I agree at first I didn't like the wrap, but on AGM it really fits.

i use drx beasleys matte paint sealer on mine from day one and drx beaslys matte paint final finish after washing each time . my hood looks as flawless as the day i bought the car if not better,i find the wrap as easy to take care of as the rest of the car. drx is a little pricey but so was the car but its worth every penny, keeping the hood matte and looking good is a must for me.

I have been washing mine the same as I wash the rest of the car. I have found that windex wipes work well on the wrap. I use the same on my Matte Ducati.
If/when the stock wrap gets to a point that it needs to be removed I will just order some 3M 1080 wrap from EBay and re-wrap it. The SIM looks great on the 1LE btw! Congrats. |
