Yeah, 3 of them... amazing. They "never knew of the hack" before unloading the stock... I call bullshit on that.

OK... these asshats will charge you, just like XM/Sirius, if you don't call and cancel after your one free year if you do sign up.
It was once a company I was actually proud to say I worked for, when Rogers was CEO... after he retired, it kind of all went down hill. “We will not bill You until the free trial period has expired and provided that You have not yet cancelled your trial membership,” say the terms, dated Sept. 6. “In the event that You wish to continue Your membership beyond the trial period, do nothing and Your membership will automatically continue without interruption and We will begin billing You via the payment source You provided when you signed up for the free trial.” https://www.yahoo.com/news/equifax-t...191351657.html

On top of the taxable income due to the write-off, I had to pay another $400 for their CPA company to file the paperwork with the IRS. |

I want a new SS# not linked to the old one but with the same credit score. And Equifax has to pay all the costs.

You can thank Congress and your State Representatives for letting them charge you those fees... they approved them. The cost of freezing and unlocking is minor to all the time I spent fixing, closing, opening, updating, calling, waiting on hold for the Target hack. Guess where I don't shop anymore?

One big difference. Target isn't the credit reporting industry, neither are any of the other companies you listed. The credit reporting industry shouldn't be allowed to charge us to protect our credit rating when it is the credit reporting industry that put us at risk. |

This isn't the first one they have had either... you think Experian, or TU haven't had one before?

As much as I hate class action lawsuits I hope the one against Equifax puts those idiots out of business... which will also serve the purpose of sending a huge message to Experion and TransUnion.
Maybe now they will take the responsibility of having accurate information and keeping it safe seriously. But I doubt it. |

You can opt out of the credit reporting system... never apply for credit, pay cash for everything. You'll be a "ghost".
