Recaro seat in ZL1 convertible 2014

Hello,
It seems that we cannot install Recaro fronts seats in convertible. But, I’m not sure to clearly understand why. Could be concerns with airbags ?
Who could tell me more on this subject ?
Thank you

The airbags for coupes versus convertibles are in different places on the seat. It won't work unless you disable the airbags.

That truly breaks my heart! I have been waiting for the wife to win the lotto so I could purchase a pair for my 2014 ragtop. I got to drive a friends Z28 and fell in love with the Recaro seats and thought someday I would install a set! Darn it!

I have my answer regarding the seat airbag difference.

In the coupe, there’s an additional airbag on the top :

We can sea difference between airbags size of the seats. But, why disabling them?

Thank you

It's about signals to the system. You try to connect the seats and you will cause an airbag light and therefore they will not work, ie disabled.

I am not an engineer, but I am sure it could be configured, but how safe would this be? I wouldn't do it.
