Also I don’t know why you people don’t purchase your Bilstein struts and shocks for your Camaro direct from Bilstein?? Bilstein said there struts and shocks are in stock and are really to ship.
They are NOT available from anyone.

Do they still BANG during decompression on sharp drop offs?

Nope, I have called, they will take your money and put you on the back order list. No thanks.

Are the Z-28 DSSV struts/shocks any good? No one has mentioned those yet.

Based on my limited knowledge, DSSV type shocks are where it's at but you'll pay a hefty premium. I suspect you'll also need the Z28 springs too as the Z28 shocks are built for/designed around such spring rates.

Haven't installed them yet, so I can't say. But I'm willing to bet that they will still make some noise whenever the wheels drop off a gap due to the design

Another vote for Pedders SportsRyders...installed these with BMR 1.4" springs and it looks nice and handles/rides nice. I did also install upgraded BMR sway bars so that also helped with the decreased body roll.

I can’t freaking take it anymore. The ride on my car is going to make me hate it. It’s like a freaking pogo stick on some roads but still stiff so I don’t think the shocks are worn out at 58k miles. The Bilsteins are still unavailable and I don’t want coilovers. Are the 1LE shocks going to be the best route at this point? I hate charging things but at this point I’m going to have to do it.

Depends what your goals are...I have the 1LE setup and like it. Since you have a 2011 you could go with the updated SS 2012-2015 shocks/struts as they are actually an upgrade over the 2010-2011 setup.

What was the difference in ride AND handling from stock to 1LE? On my 4th gen it was a huge change in ride and handling when I went to Bilsteins.

I’ll see if anyone has commented on the 2012 upgrade. I think I read somewhere it was a good fix to the crappy ride.
