Z28 FRONT SPLITTER FOR TRACK DUTY

Im looking for a good replacement front splitter stock or aftermarket as I plan to add some additional length to it. Mabe 3" on the out side corners and 2" in the center. APR wings has a carbon fiber add on that you $500 that you must finish.

I decided that Id like to make my own out of ABS plastic because it doesn't crack that easy, plus its very cheap! I also think it may be easy to machine all though it cant take a lot of heat.

The front splitter is a consumable item in my opinion so it being in expensive is important.

Before I can design the add on piece I need to get a replacement front splitter so I can still drive the car while I'm working on the new one.

Please pm me if you have one for sale.

I always make the leading edge of my track splitters from Marine Ply. Like you say if you track seriously it's a consumable. I make them 2x at a time so I always have a spare/template!

I ground my last one out through making too much downforce at 165mph that it ground away on the tarmac. My latest has survived 150mph+ and several trackdays including Nürburgring (very bumpy).

You might find ABS is a bit brittle (strong but cracks easy)..

Yeah i've heard of people using ply wood before. ABS was an idea after I saw it on my buddies acr viper. Its 3/8" thick and comes stock.

I'm going to design it as a solid model so I can have it cut on a cnc router holes and all. That way its easy to make more of them in the future.

If you're making a splitter, why not use the SS 1LE splitter as the base then add the plywood or ABS extension. They're cheap and abundant

Hesitant to recommend the aftermarket body kit stuff. I've had fitment issues on cars.
