Z/28 changes dealers and loses miles???
When I was looking for a Z/28 last year, I considered a red non-AC car that was for sale at a Dodge dealer in Pueblo, Colorado. It was priced at $37,500 and had 16,000 miles. I decided against buying it because the service and warranty history showed a complete engine replacement at 1000 miles and it was delivered new as a "special event" car. I was concerned about the possible abuse the car may have had when new, so I passed on it even though it was a very good price.
The car remained in inventory for a long time and they eventually reduced the price to $36,500. It was apparently sold in January as it disappeared from the dealer's web site. Recently, I noticed a red Z/28 for sale on Car Gurus at a dealer in Longview, TX. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=134222617 I looked at the pictures and it looks like a non-AC car, and it is listed with the same VIN as the car that was for sale in Pueblo, but it now shows 6000 miles with a picture of the odometer. The under hood picture shows both engine covers in place, the car in Pueblo was missing the right side engine cover. Could this be the same car? Surely, a dealer would not roll back the odometer, that is a violation of federal law. Could it just be a coincidence and the VIN listed is incorrect? I am very curious to know the whole story. Any thoughts or ideas on this? |

Poor number 49. Its been all over this country. I'll check my photos, I know I've got pics of its odometer. I'll post once I get off work.

I've also got a CarGurus ad saved as PDF, saved on 30 March 2018, and it lists the mileage as 6012. I am thinking either this dealership used old pics, or the listing is old.

I did a quick 90 second search on the "dealer" and it does not get much worse. Also just buy taking a quick look at their location and corporate name, "joeboys u pull it", I'll go out on a limb and say they are crooks. No doubt in my mind they rolled it back, but to each his own opinion.
Hopefully, anyone considering this poor old car will find this thread on "2G1FS1EE5E9700049" |

Im thinking someone is reusing the ads, because at the bottom of the current ad it says listed for 1000 days (so 2.7 years). |

2G1FS1EE5E9700049
https://www.vehiclehistory.com/vin-r...FS1EE5E9700049 It jumps up 12,000 miles in two months. Later jumps up and down. That doesn't make sense. My first two thoughts I don't think are the right answer, 1. it was a typo in the many ads 2. Scammer using someone else' ad trying to get that money for a fake sale 3. Odometer rollback 4. One of them is stolen and using the other one's VIN; Joeboys? |

These cars are now of the age that some of them have bounced around to the point a lot of the history is lost for them. Personally if i were in the market, i would pay up for one with complete owner history. The seemingly (at the time) great price you pay might be long forgotten when you encounter a big problem later.
