Fuel consumption?
My Pontiac G8 had a better mpg compared to my Camaro. I am getting around 11 MPG city drive with lots of stop and go. Is this normal? GM and Mr. Google both say i should be getting somewhere near 16 MPG. A full tank will drive me 200 miles or 220 approx.
Anyone could share what MPG he/she getting out of an LS3 city drive?

I have a 2011 SS all cammed and stalled with a 3200 converter and get any where from 10.5 to 14 in the city depending on how I drive, and get about 22.7 on the highway @ 70mph.

My mostly stock L99 (muffler delete) averaged 28 all the way home from Salt Lake when I picked it up. It’s about a 350 mile trip all highway. Around town it’s more like 16-18.

I’m about 14/16 city. I don’t baby it but I don’t beat her either, spirited driving mostly with mild cruising.

City/messing around is around 16mpg for me.
Highway cruise only in fairly level terrain nets about 21.5 mpg.

Interesting!
I not beating on it even, what causes high fuel consumption. Mine is already tuned and took out 6% fuel even in fuel enrichment mode.

Fuel consumption? Yes!
I tuned about 2 months ago. Don’t beat it but don’t baby by any stretch. 14.7 half city / half rural.

Incoming “I get hybrid mpg comparisons on my SS” and “I didn’t buy this car for fuel mileage” comments. I did a test or two on the ol SS and at 75 mph highway all I could ever achieve was 23 MAYBE high 23 or 24. MAYBE. That’s with the wind behind me. An ideal mileage cruising at those speeds would be an easy 21-22. I can’t help you with stop and go, but 11 does seem low for me. However, stop and go means you have to get this heavy pig moving again and again. I guess I could see it in those conditions. Try and fill it up, drive 50 miles in one direction from the gas pump you used and 50 miles back to the same one. Caculate your gallons added and divide by miles given and see what you get. If you’re at 20-23 I’d say you’re ok.

EDIT: The main 2 reasons for using 98 Oct. is our hot weather, the warmer the weather the more knocking we get due to the density of the air & engine temperature (dyno tests also). Weather in summer gets 120-130 degrees F. so i started using 98 octane because less resistance to knock I used to put 95 Oct but was the same at WOT. The second reason is obvious \\PPOOOWWWWEEEERRR\\.

Wait, so you're paying about $.30 per liter or about $1.20 gallon for gasoline, running 98 octane and you're concerned about fuel consumption? I really doubt that.
Why not post pics from the Bahrain Camaro club? That would be more interesting.
