Right now the classics are not selling for what they were. Maybe next year the used SS will prices go down and the classic muscle prices will go back up. It may be a smart choice to wait. I don't have that kind of patience.

A long time ago I learned to let go, meaning I've had plenty of cars I would have liked to keep, but they needed to go for various reasons. One of my old 280-Zs even helped with a down payment on my first house in '82.
I really wish I could have kept some, but it usually worked out that I couldn't keep any of my old cars or motorcycles for one reason or another. Just last November I sold my beloved antique sports car, an Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite. That was really hard to do, but my 2010 Camaro purchase was in the planning stages. The money for the car, and the garage space was needed. I don't regret it, as I love to spend as much free time as I can with the Camaro, it's just a great car. If you can afford to keep the Olds, then do it. For me, I guess it's like going on to the next car adventure! Here's a shot of my Bugeye (with my now 19 yr old son ). |

How about making the Olds more street able than?? Way cheaper to put a Overdrive transmission and maybe even A/C in it than to buy a new camaro. Life was hard in the 75' till I got the TKO-600 in even with the 2:73 rear! As for the heat, well... I just tuff it out. I am from New Orleans.

To make it more street friendly would mean to slow it down, smaller gears or overdrive, tight suspension, smaller cam. Thats just not going to happen! It would be alot of work, and I have so much into it to get were its at... there is no way I am changing it and doing more work. Thats the thing here, I am tired of working on it more then driving it! I think next summer might be it... I will ethier have both or the olds goes.

If you get rid of that Olds A-body car I will come over and Smack you up-side your head.. How could you even consider getting rid of an A-body Olds ???? I have a 1968 Chevelle convertible and would never trade it in on a '11 Camaro SS, silly move..I agree with someone who said it earlier, the Olds will always retain or go up in value, the 2010+ Camaros are a dime a dozen now.. Keep the Olds !!!!!!!
true, you have to let go, but when you let a Rare GM A-body Oldsmobile Cutlass go for a run of the mill 5th Gen Camaro, i think it's a mistake.. Chances are you will find less Cutlass cars as time goes by compared to the Over-abundane of the 5th Generation Camaros you will be seeing at car shows and at the drag strip.. |

Keep the Olds. I almost sold my 67 Camaro after I first bought my 2010 because I lost interest in it. Now that the honeymoon is over I am thankful I still have my 67, I threw a 535 HP 383 in it and have a blast when I drive it. You will regret selling your Olds after your 2010 honeymoon is over, I know I would.

my dad owned a 70 442, had that 455 in it, was one bad Olds, our whole family was scared of that thing, can only imagine what other drivers felt when they saw that god forsaken beast come up behind them. LOL. Bad news on four wheels :o) Dad regrets letting it go to this day, I believe he was out of work at the time and needed to put food on the table. If I ever win the lottery I am getting him a gold 70 442!

Dude! Keep the Olds.
I keep thinking I've seen this car somewhere before... ROP? Oldspower? hmmm... wasn't this car broken at one time...maybe it's not. Anyway, I've kept all my two A and three G body Oldsmobiles AND we got the 2010 SS. If it's paid for, why sell it for a car that definitely will depreciate? You will kick yourself if you sell it. I know it's tempting, but unless you REALLY got a plan, you'll regret it. And then you'll want to get another like it later. Trust me.

You're not paying on the Olds anymore. Keep it, buy 2011 SS. Problem solved.
No need to thank me, really

Keep the Rocket, I had a 72 for 10 years, built, not near as nice as yours. 14 years later and I still regret selling it. Much respect to you for not throwing a chev motor in it. I built the Rocket as well. That is definately a keeper.

Don't do it man! Nice olds that can't be replaced. Camaros are a dime a dozen. If I would have had to get rid of one of my old toys for a new camaro , I would be new camaroless right now. Drop a big block in the olds and help her get in the 10's. Nice car!
