That’s why I gave the example of a few performance mods to start with like a tune, CAI, and headers as a lead to figure out if those mods were able to get the gen 5 1LE as fast as the Gen 6 1LE or if it required different mods to be as fast. |

Kinda basic number crunching here: Gen 5 car weighs approx 300 lbs. more. Gen 6 car has about 30 HP more. Add, subtract or divide above numbers and I think you'll come up with about $5K (depending on labor and quality of parts) to make the 5 faster than the 6 but that is just me doing gearhead broken pencil arithmetic.

$2k Heads $1k cam/valvetrain $2k Tune/Labor I could maybe see $6 depending on the parts you select. For $7 to $10k I would be going FI with out a question. |

The modification you need is man with a baseball bat. He can then hit both you, and the 6th-gen driver, in the head for attempting to race 1LEs in a straight line.

I did a roll race event at local drag way a few years ago with the mods listed in my sig against a bolt on 6th gen SS. I put maybe a car and a half on him by the 1320 mark.
those cars aren't slow for sure.
