Transmission

Hey guys I have a 2017 Camaro SS and well I have question. Why is it that when I floor it and let go of the gas, the revs stay high like around 3000/4000 rpms like if it got stuck it doesn’t shift unless I keep accelerating. I would appreciate the knowledge.

Because they try to outsmart you.
Since you are driving aggressively they will stay in a lower gear because they predict that you will floor it again, or you may need the engine braking to slow.
If you start to cruise at steady speed it should upshift to the most efficient gear.

At least, that is what I have read from the owner's manual.
