What is the gist of the lawsuit? We face booked the lady on the suit and haven't gotten a response.

The design on the convertible tops especially in the years 2011 and 2012 along with the water bag is inherently flawed. If you go to the Facebook Page the PDF is listed of the entire suit that was filed.

My daughter is part of the Honda VCM (Variable Cylinder Management aka cylinder deactivation [watch out auto V8 owners!]) class action settlement. In that one, Honda agrees to refund documented repairs for certain engine codes plus extend warranty coverage to 8 years from date of warranty coverage initiation.
All owners of this product were automatically included in the settlement. The only action required by those included in the settlement was notification to the court if you wanted to "opt-out" of the settlement. If you didn't opt-out then you received the negotiated settlement and gave up your legal rights to sue Honda over this issue. This is the nteresting part because frankly, almost all of the Honda owners I've talked to have no clue this is going on even though a mailing was sent to the owner of record. The court is automatically taking away owners rights to sue if they don't initiate action to opt-out. If 1000 owners opted out, Honda reserved the right to cancel the settlement agreement. This is a VERY interesting read in how Honda's legal team maneuvered to minimize its exposure. Have you even heard of this? They've done a great job keeping it out of the press. Honda's vaunted engineering reputation is crap. I guess GM thinks their engineers are better. Personally, I think the car computers are now sophisticated enough to make an engine do it but they aren't smart enough to overcome the laws of physics. We shall see. If I had GM AFM, I'd be watching my oil levels very closely. http://settlement-claims.com/enginemisfire/Notice.html

I did read up on that Honda suit. I think most of us that had problems with our tops or water leaks would be content with an extended warranty out another 3 years or so. I know I would being my first car was bought back. It seems as though the attorney's in the Honda case let them get off rather easily. But that is just my opinion.

A separate suit would have to be filed in Canada and GM Canada is like a separate entity from the GM in the USA. However, this suit might prompt someone up there to take action.

I thought GM fixed the tops in 2014. Seems odd to include them.

How do we know for a fact the tops were fixed for 2014? Look at the ignition problem. Also, if they were in fact fixed, should GM then do something like they did for the ZL1 and CTS V owners like they did here?
