What I'm saying is initially, before Camaro mania dies down, people will pay over sticker to have one today. If I was a dealer and had a cancelled order I'd offer it to those waiting, if none wanted it then I'd sell it for over sticker. So YES, for the first few months cancellations could very well mean profit. I've seen them sit at a dealer and have 7 people come in and put money down on an order. In one day.

So yes. Right now demand is high, supply is low. I know a guy who paid 50k for a Chally. You may say he's an idiot, I know I do but there are people out there who will pay more while supply is so low.

Show me a dealer who wouldn't love to have 10 of them sitting on the lot unspoken for right now.

If this car came out before the economy went to shit, i would agree that you would have "camaro mania" dealers here in Toronto are not getting above sticker price. That car caters to certain market group and they cant afford it, unless they drag there mother inlaw in to co sign for them...lol.

Assuming that #6 isn't bumped into #5's slot?
If a buyer backs out, the dealer can put another pre-order in OR build a car for the lot. It's his choice as long as GM is willing to build what the dealer asks for. There isn't any specific order for the orders to be pulled. First in - first out seems be expected by the buyers but that is clearly not the case.

I "think" GM may audit the sale paperwork to make sure the car went to the person who pre-ordered it before they will credit the difference from the price increase. (Please don't quote me on that - A little help here from the guys that would know for sure)

-Mark.

As I understand it, selling for more than MSRP is illegal in Ontario, possibly all over the country. Also, why have you been completely ignoring the V6? The one that starts at roughly $10 000 less than the SS and gets ~15% better fuel economy while not even recommending premium gas?
