Built my own 3" exhaust!!

So I decided to build my own 3" exhaust, I kept it dumped at the rear. I will try an get a clip up later but its sounds awesome and fit perfect! I am set to hit the dyno again next month for a tune update, pretty sure my car is far from optimum right now.

Since my tune I now have full 3" right off the headers, a much bigger filter with a straighter shot to the TB, and I switched to LS7 plugs. Hoping I pick up another 15hp or so and a little more trap speed.
How far you guys think my tune is off right now? As far as the butt dyno I cant tell, its way to hot out right now and my car always dogs bad in this heat! Last time when it was tuned I had the full stock exhaust on and a tiny air filter that he said was choking me!

Thanks, I also located the H 18" from the collectors. The stock H was much further down the tube, so hopping this might add some torque as well. I was able to even add ground clearance over the stock setup in the middle of the car!

Not bashing, but I did read a thread where dyno and flow tests were done with an x pipe and an h pipe in a bunch of different locations, and the tester found the stock location was optimum, any other location resulted in a loss of power or no change at all.

Might have been Ted janetty but dont quote me on that. Definitely on this forum though

I would find a loss of power hard to believe, that would suck thats for sure! Everything I read said to put the H close to the headers as possible. I am about 5" closer then the stock location. I stayed with a H because I like the old school sound over an X.

Who knows maybe next year I will try an X, thanks though its only my 3rd exhaust build! I did my 70 cutlass and a friends G body in 3" also. I think this is my best one so far!

I use a weld pack 100, flux corded. I could have done a better welding job, took me bit to find the setting that worked for me and I was being impatient LOL

It was Ted Janetty. I can't find the post, but I do remember him being the one to post that.
