If I was to do this to mine, which I won't, I would definately be using the right Sunset Gold Paint, Front bumper, Hood, Gound Effects, etc.... Ohterwise, it's just a cheap copy in my books! There are plenty of aftermarket suppliers that can either provide the correct parts / paint or at least a much closer representation to either the T1, T2, or T3 Bumblebee's if you truly want to experience the rush and attention of buying and driving one of these, however, I find that GM's offering of last version T2 Bumblebee was a lot more affordable for most. JMO
They never offered a T2 bumblebee...

Have you not read all the posts by those that have had their cars painted that color and the complete different process it takes to paint it?

Instead of a $3,000 option I would bet it would be at least $5,000 and probaly that would be just for the color, if you added the front Fascia and hood your price would go up a couple more thousand. and would anyone pay $7K extra just to look like Bumblebee?
If I really wanted one, what's another $7,000 when you're already paying close to $50,000 just for a 2SS in Canada? To do it properly, Paint and ALL, I would figure it would cost at least $ 12,840 ( $8,000 Paint, $1,500 Front Bumper, $1,200 Hood, $1,800 Ground F/X and $340 Highwing Spoiler .. no idea on side vents ) to even come close to the TF3 Edition. This is in addition to the $3,000 that GM is already charging! Therefore, $15,840 and change.

I've read people have painted their cars custom colors and sure, it gets expensive. But there's more than one way to achieve a sunrise gold color, or a closer approximation than rally yellow at least, and not all involve $200/gal nascar style paints. Hell I'm sure we can find a way to spend $5000 on painting it some crazy "black" color, too

No bitching. Just noticing things that a lot of others obviously aren't. And offering my opinions. So, now, please shut up, noob.

Unfortunately even close would not be good enough for some people, they would want the exact color. You know what they say, you can't please everyone. I do think the higher the option cost the fewer people would buy it. Maybe they could have it split into 2 options, one like this one the a full bumblebee treatment for those that want to pay the price.
I could have bought a TF edition back in 2010 but I felt for what you get the option wasn't worth it, and even moreso with this new one... Anyway every rally yellow Camaro looks enough like the first Bumblebee that most people that like transformers STILL get excited seeing one.

Agreed, I would've liked to see a multiple-option TF package, where you could separate out the wheels, paint, chrome doodads, etc. The full package might be $8000, but hey, it's authentic; if it isn't someone's cup of tea, that's cool too.

I also know that level of optioning costs time and money, too. But damn it would be cool

How is that NOT worth it??? Look at the wheels? The spoiler? The ground effects? the graphics?

Its more than $3k to add all those normally... Thats why I went with the transformers edition on round 1... it was like $700 for the stripes, or $900 for the transformers edition... so only $200 difference for something "special"? I want those wheels, ground effects, spoler, and stripes... thats worth it... but I also want a ZL1... why cant they make a TSE ZL1?

I also swapped the body for a C2 Z28. (In short I traded it for three cars, a Corvette Z06r, a C2 Camaro Z28, and a Cadillac CTS Summer Performance package 3.6L DI with Aisin 6spd.)
