atleast she deleted that part now. you can't start a thread about the ignorance of others and post something ignorant yourself. anyways nice of you to throw her a bone, but seriously its just no. the ss doesn't even come close to the srt8. much less compare. even though Its heavier it does a much better job of putting a lot of the 470horses at the flywheel to the rear and on the ground than the ss.

I knew this this would go away from the intent I posted it Im laughing at the insecure folks who always wanna race. Thats all. Nvrmind.

Nah...They aren't haters...It's just that there are so few of them, they have to make up for it with an attitude.

Hip surgery ? Thats no excuse to drive an auto. I've got both hips and knees replaced due to an accident and drive a stick and ride motorcycles.
I also see and have some "spirited" driving fun with a local guy with an SRT8 Magnum. What a mean beast !!

Motor Trend's first test of the 392 Challenger netted only a 13.00 at 111 and 4.6 to 60 mph. A quick look at our 1/4 mile fast list shows 16 bone stock SSs that ran faster and a bunch more that "match" it...and that's a list of only those who post times or even measure performance. Remember MTs drivers are professionals and most of our C5 SS owners are amateurs like me. Looks to me like the Camaro SS "don't need no stinkin' 470" HP to beat an SRT8. The Lady's right!!!

I don't know why everyone's giving her so much crap, I just did a quick google search, and the numbers for the SRT vs the SS are pretty damn close. So the SRT is maybe a tenth quicker to 60, and a tad quicker in the 1/4 mile? It's not as a big a spread as some of you are making it out to be.

From Motortrend:

2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee BASE PRICE $41,000 (MT est) PRICE AS TESTED $41,000 (MT est) VEHICLE LAYOUT Front-engine, RWD, 5-pass, 4-door sedan ENGINE 6.4L/470-hp/470-lb-ft OHV 16-valve V-8 TRANSMISSION 5-speed automatic CURB WEIGHT (F/R DIST) 4271 lb (54/46%) WHEELBASE 120.2 in LENGTH x WIDTH x HEIGHT 200.3 x 74.2 x 58.3 in 0-60 MPH 4.4 sec QUARTER MILE 12.8 sec @ 112.6 mph BRAKING, 60-0 MPH 112 ft LATERAL ACCELERATION 0.91 g (avg) MT FIGURE EIGHT 25.5 sec @ 0.76 g (avg) EPA CITY/HWY FUEL ECON 14/23 mpg ENERGY CONS, CITY/HWY 241/147 kW-hrs/100 mi CO2 EMISSIONS 1.14 lb/mi

They're nice cars though; I'd take one. Still not as good looking as the Camaro.

I bought my 2012 Challenger R/T and LOVE it!! but I know for a fact that it is not even close to the power of my old 2011 SS. The SRT 392 IS faster but it is close to $50K so again they sshould not be picking on the Camaro. but I LOVE them both!!! and best of all......they aren't mustangs!!

people with trucks that got them to be fast are idiots in the first place. If you want something that handles well, goes fast...well why waste your time trying to do that with a truck when they already made something else...I think its called a sports car??? haha

All that being said, I am a truck fan. But if I was setting out to beat Camaro SS's, my first choice wouldnt be a Dodge Ram, lol.

And I say you run your friend in the 392 challenger. That way if you beat him, you'll really shut him up - along with the nay-sayers on here too! His car is faster than a stock SS, but yours is not...annnd his car is stick - so he has a bigger chance of botching it. Otherwise you could always Marty McFly his ass and let him t-bone a van. Alot of options here...
