There is a price to pay for being an ultimate track weapon.

R&T really had quite the collection of cars there. Just quickly glanced at the finalists, thought for sure the Z/28 was going to be in the final 3. I will have to read the full article at lunch today.

I don't understand, the article at the top says 2015, and the thing on the bottom says 2014

Were you guys really surprised? The Z28 is a bad ass ride and (imo) expensive for a track car camaro @ 75k, but this list of competing 100k+ cars, I didnt even think the z28 would come in 5th.
VIR is a track that really fooled me when it came to lap times. I can't wait to see next years lightning lap with the TA 2.0, 991 GT3, 458 Speciale, C7Z, hell I hope the GT350 is in that list too!! |

Just got done reading the whole article. It's interesting to see different opinions, MT drivers car Z/28 walked away with the title, R&T it didn't make the top 3. What I liked about this article is it seems like they gave every car a fair shake. I wonder how the outcome would have been had they had a pro driver like Randy Probst give his input if it would have changed anything.

Things that make you say, "hmmmm".
I recall the gales of laughter and derisive rhetoric from the Ford camp when the ZL1 won comparos against the GT500 because of a more well-rounded ride and handling, and being better-suited as a DD. Now the Mustang GT PP is chosen by these folks, over the Camaro, for those reasons and suddenly that makes a LOT of sense. In the immortal words of an ol' pal of mine, REALLY?! BTW, they continually refer to the Camaro's excessive width. Isn't the Hellcat wider? And yet not a peep about its width. They are obviously awaiting the Camaro's Gen-6 arrival. I suspect their "story" will change. |

W/O Mirrors: 2015 Challenger = 75.7" 2015 Mustang = 75.4" 2015 Camaro = 75.5" The drivers must have been estrogen-enrichened. They're the only likely ones to be concerned about an extra 1/10 or two vs. actual performance stats. Last edited by SEVEN-OH JOE; 11-14-2014 at 03:53 PM. |
