Speaker repair?
I have a Focal KRX2 driver where the wire between the terminal and the spider is broken where it was glued to the cone. Can this be repaired by a good technician?
Serious replies only please.

Did you not buy them from a shop? I would expect a Focal dealer could get it repaired/replaced for you.

I bought them at a dealer in Port Arthur, TX. I am in the Houston area now. Need to do some more research. Expensive speakers to not be able to repair. Just want to find out where and that it is a reputable shop. Whether local or if I have to ship it.

You should be able to take it to any authorized Focal dealer and have it replace/repaired since you bought it from an authorized dealer. Orca would probably interested to see how it failed as well. From my experience, Focal and Orca stand behind their products pretty well. Please be sure to update this post for us to see how they support their products.

wire, solder, and glue. Any speaker can get fixed, provided you have the parts. But depending on damage, a new one might just be the cheaper option.

As a music "super freak" - but I'm not Rick James bi**h.
Holes in the speaker cone can get expensive to repair. Speaker surrounds made of foam that rots out are easy to repair. Using the tar covered paper surrounds will insure you never have to replace them. Late model Bose 901s are notorious for rotting foam. I believe it's models 1 through 3 that have the tar paper and last forever. All speaker electronics in speakers, are easy to repair. You can change the crossover point without pulling the speaker as in-line filters make that an easy DIY. Guys going for a crisp 8" sub with about 200watts RMS (perfect for a car-sized listening area) can easily change the crossover point with those in-line filters. Once you think everything is repaired, play "The Real Me" by the Who. The virtuoso bass line recorded by the Ox (RIP) will find any weak links in your system.
