thanks again for all of the feedback guys!

Im just picked up some MAF cleaner and throttle body cleaner. Gonna take it all apart this afternoon and clean everything and put it back together.

another side note I had the car dyno'd yesterday which is why i cleaned the airfilter the day before, they said my AFR was all messed up cause of that. I'll scan the dyno sheets here and post.

I always replace the filter when it comes time to recharge, its just my personal preference. Cold Air Inductions sells replacement filters that are pre oiled and ready to go. It does cost a little more to replace than to recharge "recharge kit is $13.95 and replacement filter is $48",but its worth it to me.

Yep thats what I'm doing. Luckily I live about 15 min away from the headquarters of summit racing, and they carry all the aftermarket filters so I dont have to wait for it to ship. So im headed out there now and just gonna buy a new one.

I also do a replace with CAI instead of the re-oil. However, I experienced MAF CEL after doing such this past time. I pulled the MAF, cleaned it with MAF cleaner and still ended up getting the CEL. Replaced with my old MAF and no CEL.I think my MAF just went bad in close proximity to the CAI change and was a weird coincidence. God forbid i actually try to clean and re-oil my own

Cleaned everything up this afternoon, the intake, throttle body, and installed a new pre-oiled filter. The car runs like a dream now!

Glad you like yours. Some like them.

Maybe because K&N is brilliant at marketing their products they continue to be somewhat popular.

Many, many others have tried them and find they are more trouble than they are worth. Miniscule (if any) power gain, extra maintenance, and if you don't do it exactly right, you get other problems. Quite why anyone would put up with that is baffling to me.

so random question.... how often should you clean out your TB? Mine had quite a bit of "gunk" on it... I do have the trifecta tune, does that have anything to do with it?

It is funny ,,even ive read about guys having trouble...ive had zero problems....installed it in no time. Sounds good ..looks good ..and offers more the a little power gain..not the most but sure not the least. I think because so many people have them the chances of guys having problems increases.
