Something really smells bad on this . I would contact Chevrolet arbitration . It is SOP for a dealer to never clean plugs , they would install new plugs . I may be wrong , but I believe GM policy is to get involved when customers have a beef with the dealer .I would avoid that dealer in the future and tell all my friends to stay clear also. NY has very stringent consumer protection laws ,and I would alert them of this situation . You got taken advantage of plain and simple . It may be a trip , but Kerbeck Chevrolet in Atlantic City NJ has an excellent service department and the best selection of Corvett's at the lowest price on the planet.

It was a minimum 1 hour labor charge for diagnosis of check engine light and that was 10 years ago when I was a Nissan Technician

My car had the exact symptoms you describe when my battery died/failed. If I wrote it up myself it would match exactly what you wrote. I do not daily mine and even when I happen to let it sit over a week on the new battery without driving it I had the same thing happen. I keep it on a tender now and have not had the issue reoccur. My car has roughly 9400mi.
