Sound volume: Muffler delete vs ...

I am trying to build my exhaust setup in stages. Current setup is CAI intake and muffler delete. I keep seeing that the Corsa cat back is very tame until LTs are put in front of it. Is muffler delete on a L99 with stock resonators in place as loud as Corsa cat back? I have listened to so many youtube videos but the sound volume seems it all depends on mic placement and quality of speakers/mic. If I rate the volume of muffler delete at 4/10 would Corsa be a 6?

Thanks Guys!

I'd say they are both pretty similar in volume. The muffler delete might be a little louder though but I guess it depends on what Corsa system you get. In general nothing will get to loud without ditching the factory manifolds/cats.

Thanks for the quick response, Juiced I was afraid of the combo of LT and muffler delete but keeping stock resonators would not make a nice sound, but better than wasting a grand of Corsa pipes.

Corsa exhaust with LTs is where it's at. Expensive though, but the sound is amazing.

The Corsa exhaust is much more than just 'loud'. A proper cat back will add a nice tone or shape to the volume that you just cannot get with a muffler delete.

Corsa is VERY tame with stock manifolds and cats. With long tube headers the tone is rather high pitched to me. IMO, it seems more exotic sounding than muscle car. The great thing is that it is supposed to be drone free.

I’m one of the rare birds that’s had a muff-del for over two years (I think) and still love it.

Here's a couple of idle clips of my car. First one is muffler delete with kooks headers and the second with a magnaflow competition cat back.

https://youtu.be/KTO97oyjJcQ when I had the muffler delete I had high flow cats also.

I said I'd never waste money on a cat back but I found it on ebay from a wholesale exhaust seller. It was only $300.

I was not expecting this much feedback..I truly appreciate it guys! I bought the car with muffler delete and to me it sounds good but was worried about bolting LTs to it down the road and that's why I was looking at Corsa (I had Corsa on my all stock '05 GTO and loved the sound but it was not "loud" by any means)

Thanks for the video clips StingrayblueSS that really helps.

if youre doing the long tubes, just keep the delete, and see what you think. then get a cat back if you want. I had muffler delete HF cats and no reconators and it was bad ass and loud. now I have no cats, turbo and a 3" dump under the car with a electric cut out... also bad ass lol.

I haven't gone that far with my car but I did post a video on youtube with my stock exhaust and then with a Borla Axle Back Atak exhaust

I also have a CAI installed.

I guess it wont hurt to just see how it sounds with muffler delete and LTs.

I am sure your setup turns some heads!

One thing I miss about the muffler delete is the decel pops. The magnaflow has a resonated x pipe that is very restrictive.

Well I got a set of Kooks long tubes with high flow cats and kept the resonator and still have the muffler delete. I am very happy with the volume and tone. The tone can be refined, but for now its great. Also the new found power of LTs and tune is much appreciated. Here is a clip of a cold start.
