Had the same problem when I had LTs! Neighbors started to complain about being woken up at 5:30 am. I just keep telling them it would get quiter when I added the turbos. Now they complain that I'm always working on it...

So Vince thinks he can do it with ours eh? COOL!!

Now if this actually works, I'll be waiting on some smart person to explain how it will not hurt the car....cuz honestly I'll be worried about that even if it ends up sounding amazing lol.

running like this, so long as the moving parts aren't slamming into each other, won't "hurt" the car...but is sure won't help your idle mpgs

WOW! Not hatin' here, but was everyone really waiting to get a tune because it would make your car sound like it had a cam?

i think that everyone was waiting to get a tune, and not doing it, because everyone on this forum says that a tune for the LLT is only good if you have other mods that are throwing the CEL...

sounds cammed, cool...

I see this as a problem even at idle because VVT engines eliminate the need for an EGR valve. As a result of increasing the valve overlap in which the exhaust and intake valves are both open, the exhaust gas is able to flow to the intake side. Diluting the air/fuel mixture with exhaust gases reduces the combustion temperature and the production of NOx . Also, some of the unburned air/fuel mixture present in the exhaust gas will be burned. The valve overlap is all ready increased and putting the cams out of phase will result in more unburned fuel in the chamber and with just doing this for (sound) and no real performance increase ummmmmmmm well i dont think id take the chance. But at idle the rpm, valve overlap is eliminated by retarding the camshaft. With the intake valve opening after the exhaust valve has closed, there is no blow back of exhaust gases to the intake side. Now, combustion is more stable because of the clean air/fuel mixture. This allows the engine idle smoothly at a lower rpm and fuel consumption is reduced. And screwing with the cam phase im sure will result in poor idle qualitys

+1, it's pretty funny... I noticed that too.

Imo, if you want vince to tune your car, better not be for this lol. 400+ dollars for sound.. LOL... It's a bonus for people paying for other stuff... but yeah.

As for damaging, or the cons of this tune... We'll have to see, Vince gave me a pretty long email explaining what the tune is doing. And by doing so, messing with the stability of the airflow. However, he says it's worth a try. Don't know... personally, I'm bored. And if I can get some kind of modification to this car without spending anymore more money, i'm all for it lol.

I even said on another thread, if someone paid me to try out the electric supercharger, i would do it LOL.

That being said, it's the end of the day, and Vince has not gotten back to me about this. Who knows maybe nothing will happen ? We'll just wait and see.

Well the "performance" side of the tune wasn't enough to tip me over the edge for the tune, since I don't have long tubes or anything REQUIRING a tune. All I would want out of the tune was firmer shifts, which wasn't worth $400-600 to me.

But throw in this and it might tip the balance toward being worth it.

Aren't most of us paying $800-1000 for catbacks which are primarily just for sound?

CamaroDreams...you are exact right.

I mean, even I'll admit it is a bit silly to want a tune just for sound...but heck, if I can get all the benefits of the performance tweaking plus sound...it makes me more inclined to purchase.

Hell...half the reason I want LTs is because of the awsome rumble or loping like sound it gives the V6 versus one without...I just love it. Now imagine if you could get that at idle with just the tune.

I will say this though..and it is probably being a bit picky, but I don't think I'd want my car to sound quite like the above video, but if Vince can tweak it to our liking to give us whatever amount of cam-like sound.....(more or less "loping" sound) I'd really dig that.
