Z/28 owners are cooler than Rolex owners - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I've been on the Rolex forum for a while. Now, I am by no means a watch snob and, trust me, I know where Rolex falls in the scheme of things when it comes to luxury watches. Great watch, but not the end all be all of watches and I'd get rid of it long before my Z/28.

I do find many parallels between a car like the Z/28 and a Rolex (or any well made mechanical watch). Excellent engineering, great performance, rugged and great looking (mostly).

However, one major difference...my Z/28 brethren (and gals) are far, far cooler and down to earth than those dudes over on the Rolex forum. I've learned a lot over there, but the attitudes of some are almost unbearable. My first clue should've been all the beemer, Porsche and Ferrari fan boys. I'm probably going to get kicked off at some point. Hell, I couldn't even use the avatar I'm using here because it has a gun in it. Lol. If i had to pick a group to hang with and drink beer, it would this group hands down.

Not at all. I have both as well. It's the TRF forum in particular who have too many douchey members. A much larger forum so there are bound to be some. However, I can honestly say I haven't encountered anyone on this forum that I don't like. We all have our opinions, but we treat each other with respect.

Haha! This is true, especially the Z/28 section.

Over on VWVORTEX there are many of those douches. Glad to be back over here!

Many ways this is true. The enjoyment with people met over the Z28 is usually better. Not always but a lot

Its not the watch, or the car, its more the people that think there better then any one else, got news for them we all came in to this world and we all have to do the same thing in the morning, where more the same then not.

They used to issue us the submariner in the Navy (Divers), now it's the g-shock...hmmm... One thing I laugh about is the folks who make sure you see their Rolex... But I do have to admit I do enjoy showing my car off :-)
