That red 3rd gen jacked up in the air. Wonder why and how they did the rear springs? An aluminum block aluminum head engine is 120 lbs lighter than a old small block so the front would be higher but why the rear as well?

but probably not.
I think initially we'll see the turbo 2.0L 4 cyl, 3.6L V6, and LT1 V8. I think Z/28 would get a super-charged version of the LT1.

Sounds about right, Mike. The "HP" Camaro will be out for '18. Whether that's the Z/28 or ZL1 replacement, I don't know.

I hope the next Z/28 stays with a high revving, normally aspirated smallblock. It's an important part of the Z/28 formula and lineage.

I doubt we see the Z/28 come back. I don't see the Camaro team accepting a supercharged Z/28 to follow up the beast of the 14-15 Z/28. The reason there is a ZL1 is because they didn't want a supercharged Z/28.

Well, keep in mind that the LSA Camaro was going to be the Z28, (no slash), before GM came to it's senses.

I think a hot-rodded version of the LT1, (think LS1 to LS6), would make a great LS7 replacement and at a much lower production cost.

The supercharged Z06 demonstrates a change in Chevy's philosophy about track engines. I'd lean towards guessing there will be a Z/28 first to counter Ford's GT350. If a more powerful engine emerges for the ZR1 than maybe we see a ZL1.

Chevy's brand image is refined chassis, balance car so I don't see dominating 1/4 mile drag racing as their top priority. Question I have is how would they configure the Z/28 to make it a volume seller. Do a performance option like the C7 Z07 to add the serious track goodies?

They could turn the 1LE into the Z/28 and have the ZL1 to go after the GT350 and Hellcat.

That's what I said about the ZL1.

I agree. Lt1 with CNC ported heads, higher compression, no AFM and hotter cam would be sweet.

I think that has more to do with Corvette merging the Z06 and ZR1 into one car.

I would rather the Z/28 go back into hibernation instead of seeing it with a blown small block.

I don't see the need for the Z/28 to be a volume seller.

Why? What would be the point of making a non-track track car?
