Weighted 280 lbs on July 15th. Unofficially, I was heavier. I'm 53.

Hmmm, I have a Bowflex that I am not using. I have a feeling I'm using it incorrectly doing mid-section exercise, but my arms need some help.

I'm not one to go to a gym, that's why I have an elliptical and a Bowflex.

Different strokes for different folks! Some people like Jan love classes and the motivation/friendships. Others prefer at home, no one to bother them, go at their own pace.

I love working out alone, play my music, no experts around to butt in, and no smelly sweaty meatheads grunting and farting. LOL. Everyone has to find whatever it is that works for them, there's no "one size fits all".

This has worked for me for over thrifty years now, very very happy with my results! My husband is the same way, we actually may only workout together once a week. We both just prefer it to be "our time" with no interruptions. That way he can stick to his routine without me in his way and vice versa. I find it very relaxing even if I'm going all out drenched at 100%. Love time to myself, I think it gives me a peace of mind, no distractions.

To me doing a little bit of everything each week is the healthiest way to go, Weight lifting, running, jumping, ALOT of walking and healthy eating makes for a great body and active life!!

Here's a great recipe for everyone!!

"Caribbean Chicken Stir Fry"

Ingredients
◾1 1/2 Lbs Chicken Breast, Cubed
◾2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
◾2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
◾1 Scallion, Minced
◾1 Can (15.25 oz) Tropical Fruit Cocktail
◾1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
◾1 Tsp Ginger
◾1/2 Tsp Paprika
◾1/4 Tsp Turmeric
◾1/4 Tsp Allspice
◾1/2 Cup Orange Juice
◾1 Tbsp Cornstarch
◾Salt And Pepper
◾3 Cups Cooked Jasmine Rice

Directions
1.Drain tropical fruit, reserving juice; set aside.
2.Combine 1/2 cup reserved juice with soy sauce, ginger, paprika, turmeric, and allspice in a small bowl; set aside.
3.Mix orange juice and cornstarch in a small bowl; set aside. Salt and pepper chicken.
4.Heat oil in wok or large skillet over high heat.
5.Add garlic and scallion and stir-fry for 1 minute.
6.Add chicken and stir fry until no longer pink (approximately 1 minute).
7.Add orange juice and soy sauce mixtures to the wok.
8.Stir gently for about 30 seconds.

Oh yeah, I sure do. Now people keep asking, "Wow, what's your secret?" If it were a secret, we'd all be fat!

Christie talked about how she stays in shape, and her day to day eating. She's been a vegetarian since she was a teenager, so like 45 years now, and it shows.

Lots of beautiful older women in the world, but very few can stay in tiptop shape like she has. No plastic surgery either, all natural. Sure she was blessed with incredible looks, but she has taken excellent care of herself and it shows! Big Congrats! We all know that ain't easy.

You can never be sure with all the advancements in aqua lipo & re-arranging the fat they extract from where you don't want it to where you do & back to your regular activities the same day...........They can still honestly say they have not had any plastic surgery. It is enough to make anyone consider it.

So just a story.....

There's a guy that works out at my "regular" gym. His name is Kevin. Nice guy. I see him 2-4 times a week just depending on what time he and I both get there. Trains hard with weights and typically does the stairmaster at the end, just totally drenched in sweat by the end.

Anyway, had been seeing him for weeks, doing pullups and trying to get to where he could do a muscle up. I told him that I was doing the CF intro class starting on Feb 16th that he should sign up and do it with me that if anyone could teach him how to do a muscle up it would be them.

He says ok I'll sign up tonight when I get home. This was at the end of Jan. So I'm hoping he does, but figuring he probably won't especially considering his workout partner said he wouldn't.

So class is delayed a week so the 23rd rolls around. I'm there early stretching, warming up. It starts at 6...it's about 5:55 and he finally comes walking in. I was happy because I know it's a real goal of his to do a muscle up and I know the instructors there will help him achieve that.

That's what I like to do. Help and inspire those that truly want to accomplish something and I am so looking forward to him achieving his goal.

And BTW this is Kevin at the intro course last night.

A double amputee from serving overseas. And the bad thing about it is, one is above the knee, one is below the knee. This was during the warm up. I didn't have a chance to take pics of our actual workout because I was doing it as well. Last night was KB swings and burpees. Darren, one of the instructors, asked him how he was doing. He said "I feel like I'm on the verge of disaster but I will keep pushing". He is such an inspiration.

Anyone have a better excuse not to train and give it an all out effort?
