Warning: Brake Fluid Low Level but is not
Hi there!
Today I've inserted my key and turned on (but did not start the engine) and got the warning: "Brake Fluid: Low Level". I opened hood and checked the fluid level and it was ok (more than MIN level). After this I've added a little fluid. Turned on again. Nothing changed. The next step is going check the fluid level sensor. But I don't know how to do it. Any ideas or suggestions? Check the fluid level switch with an ohm meter, it will either be closed or open. Then you need to figure out if it is a normally open or normally closed curcuit... You can also try poking/wiggling the float in the resevoir to see if it is hung up, also unplug the switch and check for corrosion on the terminals.

So it was simple.
I checked the level sensor. It always in closed state and has the 3Ohm and did not open when I tested it by magnet (when is open it should be 10kOhm). I disassemble the sensor just to confirm the issue with reed switch. One more question: I can't find the part number for this sensor (tried rockauto, gmparts and other). I've found only the kit: reservoir and sensor (p/n 22956543). Does anyone know the sensor p/n? Thank you guys. |
