Sadly I have joined
The ranks of those with a busted camaro. :(
Thursday before leaving for New York I went to pick up my kiddo from school and in the process I had to make a U turn. While making the U turn myself and a Nissan Pathfinder became intimate, for the life of me I did not see her and the front end of my SS is ALL messed up. Fortunately no one was hurt badly (my first time experiencing an airbag) and it appears my car took the brunt of the damage. Sadly it was my fault so I have a citation to deal with and the the destruction of my car is really bothering me. My question for those who have had their cars repaired, how difficult is it for parts to be obtained now that the car has been out a year? How well did you car get put back together? Also the main piece that is behind the bumper, is that part of the frame? I havent had any estimates back from insurance yet so am just waiting and wondering. The positives from this are noone was hurt, my car took the brunt since it was my fault and I have good insurance. The negative is this just sucks. Cheers and thanks for listening K |

sorry to hear about your accident but it should not be a problem to get parts now. I had a fender bender in oct 09 and it took a month to fix because they had to wait for parts.

I'm sorry to read about your car and accident. But, I'm really glad to see everyone is ok.
I know it would totally bother me to have my car damaged too, but in the big scheme of life, car damage can be repaired much more easily than an injury to a person. In the meantime, your car will be fixed and be like new soon. Maybe this is your chance to get some of those after-market parts you've been wanting! (Trying to make lemonade here.) Best of luck with getting it all straightened out. |

Im glad that everyone is ok. Its just a car and as you said you had insurance and the car took the force of the impact.
That said, the parts should be quick. I had a lady mess up my rear bumper and the autoshop was able to source parts in under a week. The Guy did mention that earlier getting parts was impossible. |

Parts are pretty readily available now that it has been out for a couple of years

It was ninety nine cents!

Important thing is nobody was seriously injured. Cars are easier and usually less expensive to fix than people.

Pics would be helpful for forum members to guesstimate on whether you car is repairable or not. Condolences for your loss.
