v6 starter question

ok, so im hoping that i can get some tech advice here. (sorry for the somewhat long read)

im having an issue with my wifes 2008 CTS. it is the 3.6 DI motor that i believe went into the 10-13 6cyl camaros. Anyway, yesterday my wife left to go to work and the car wouldnt start. All the dash lights come on, dinger dings, radio, hvac etc all are working as should. Hit the key, and 'click' nothing, nothing but a quick 'click' and thats all.

I hooked the jumper cables up and after a few seconds the car started as it should. let it run for about 15min then shut off, let it sit for 10 min or so and tried to start again and nothing, the same as before. Again, jumped it and got it running. While it was running, i tested to see if the Alt. was charging and sure enough i had 14.4-7 volts, Alt good. removed the battery, took it down to the parts store to get tested and they said it was a good battery, 100% charged. Parts guy said its probably the starter.

So, came home, installed the battery, and the car started no problem, let it sit for a couple hours, and went to start again and it started as normal, wife left for work today and again, the car started normally.

Question is, has anyone had this happen to there car and was the starter the fix? also, do the symptoms really point to a bad starter?

car has ~126k miles and to my knowledge, the starter has not been changed, that battery has at some point, Alt looks to be original as well..

thanks for any response.
