as im seeing there are 2 more cai companies out there k&n and vararam.everybody says theres is the best and they gave us numbers when jen tested them most of those numbers werent close .kn says 18 hp and vararam says 20to 25 .so i guess most of us are buying for looks and maybe 1 to 2 horsepower more .i always liked kn but whos to say they aint bullshitting either ..from what i remember with all the testing going on the average was 15 hp .now kn says 18 so what to do

my opinions only .just want the best .and there also was a couple of others out there that havent been tested yet.why

I always figure there is 5-810 HP margin of error in a dyno. If so, dyno testing intakes really does not make sense. Especially with things like the MAF sensor having to relearn, and some needing tunes to run right. When you look at an intake like the VR, it's not gonna make any more on the dyno than another intake..but there are plenty of customers who have their Corvette product that will back up their claims of 3 tenths in the quarter mile.

I always tell people intakes are like shoes. They all do about the same, so pick the one that fits your budget and style the best.

You know what i want to see is a shoot out of intakes on a big name car Magazine, Like chevy hi performance, Maybe in two or three months.

ADM Race Intake, need I say more? It's designed to gain power with the hood down (real-life driving). Don't listen to dyno gains because those are done with the hood up and a fan blowing in. ADM has a completey sealed off box (with the MAF Sensor inside to prevent heat-soak and bad timing) and an air scoop to provide fresh, out-of-the-engine bay air unlike most intakes.

How about an engine dyno test. Somebody contact GM Performance and test CAIs or even better...LT Headers! A header test would be easy if you have the engine mounted on a test stand, the install would be very quick. And with all equipment already there the engine dyno shouldn't have as many variations.

Have you even seen any of the other intakes? The VAST majority of them have a open top which seals when the HOOD IS DOWN. The Jannety test was also done with the HOOD DOWN and a fan blowing in the grill to somewhat simulate driving.

Before you start bashing testing methods, at least READ the test and testing methods that were used.

I'm really digging the looks of the box but the air intake area concerns me. It needs to be more radiused and the screws pop out in the critical smoothing out area.

Don't forget the TSP intake while your considering, it's the best priced kit out there right now & typically makes right at 18-20hp on a stock car. If you checkout this section Gomer just made 15hp/16lb ft on a already tuned car!!

No if ands or buts....Marylandspeed hit it right on the button. To get true test results all CAI would have to be tested identically. Manufactures are going to put there best specs on the system period. How they got to that spec is another story.

I went with K&N, it fit my budget and they have been around for ever. They must be doing something right. JMO and JME.
