Is it a regular cab? Cause the AC is the same unit in every configuration but it needs to cool a crew cab as well as a regular cab and everything in between. That's why my trucks AC on it's lowest possible setting with three vents CLOSED was still freezing me to death this week on a 100 degree day. So it's possible that your truck has a bit more cooling power. The Camaro however has never felt insufficient to me.

Have it checked by your dealer, mine was so so when I got the car, and sure enough the refrigerant level was low. Quick fix and now it works like a charm.

Yep. The crossfire (mercedes build) was frigid cold cold with 60k miles on it but each of the 3 Camaro's ive been in were lacking in comparison. Even the Buick Lacrosse loaner I got was better.

Imo, it may have been one of the sacrifices made with this car.

It might be minimal. I know when I drove the integra with the A/C on it lacked the "umpf", if that makes sense, lol. When I turned it off it had more pepp to it. After installing the CAI it felt like I never lost it with the A/C on. Then later I added headers and cat-back exhaust and I couldn't tell the difference what so ever.

Arizona... 115 degrees... Freezes my flippin' toes off, so I have to dial it off a bit to keep the frost off the inside of my windows...

Or in other words, my A/C works great !!!

Not to mention, my trucks build date is in 2003 and was sold in late 03 even though it's an 04 model and it's now 2012 and it's never been recharged or serviced! It's not just specific to my car because the SS I test drove felt identical. This is driving both vehicles on the same day, same temps. What's your guys opinions on the performance on the AC in the Camaro? Average, worse than average, etc? I find it lack-luster compared to what I'm used too...
Two things first. If you don't understand how A/C works then take it a knowledgeable friend or a trusted shop. A set of gauges needs to be hooked up and the system needs to be checked. Several factors could cause this. One of the two fans behind the condensor may not be working, undercharged from factory, or overcharged. By hooking a set of gauges to the system and having someone who knows what they are doing, the diagnosis should be relatively simple and get your A/C cooling properly again. Hope this helps

Funny. I'm actually more impressed with this A/C than my previous rides. I can't believe how fast it gets cold. I owned a lightning but it's been long enough that I don't remember the A/C lol. I just miss that under hood screaming.

I've never been super impressed with my A/C. It is weaker than my 2004 Silverado. I even brought the Camaro to the local dealer to see if they could find an issue with the A/C system. They found nothing wrong. However, they added an update to the BCM for the A/C system. Since then the A/C has slightly improved but it is not impressive.
