FLIR

I know that this is not an option on the 2010 Camaro. These are starting to go on some high-end cars, but I imagine it would be pretty expensive now.

However, this would be very handy to have. Especially in my neck of the woods, where vehicles tend to hit dear and armadillos on a regular basis. Just the last 3 months, I've seen two people I work with have dear run out in front of them and their vehicles get banged up a bit.

I wonder how much it would cost to install one of these and where you would install the camera?

***EDIT - Update - the Camera itself costs $3,500 You can find it here: http://www.bimmernav.com/store/catal...-item-180.html

Cadillac was the first to put this in a car back in 2000. Don't know if it's on any of the current caddys, but if so, might be easier to work with than BMW/Mercedes

No. He meant so he doesn't hit "dear" as in his wife while she's out at night huntin'.

Doh! That's what I get for posting first thing in the morning, lol!!

Seriously, though. Anyone else seen this work in person? Any thoughts on where this could be installed on the 2010 Camaro?

They have aftermarket kits for this type of thing. I saw one in the most recient policehq.com catalog. Its designed for use on squad cars. I would post a link, but unfortunately its blocked at work.... :( The camera can be mounted in the grill or on top of the car on the light bar (unfortunately camaros dont have light bars... yet).

Perfect for outrunning police on a dark highway with your headlights off! Like playing a videogame, lol.

If you wanna out run police, get a bike. Its pretty simple and can be done on a regular basis. Not that I would condone or know about that....

Bike: 180 miles per hour Radio 186,000 mile per second.....you loose. You might, maybe... get away with it once in my home town, but I'd wager you'd be caught the second time you tried.

BTW, my outrunning the police comment was meant as a joke. I'd never try to outrun the police... well, maybe I'd try only if I was in serious trouble but I highly doubt that would ever happen (crosses fingers).
